Linda Botts, Chief Executive Officer
With over 30 years of experience in corporate leadership, contract administration, financial management, and strategic planning, Mrs. Botts serves as the Corporate Monitor on all ASHLIN contracts, to ensure scopes of work and deliverables are submitted on time, within budget, and to every client’s satisfaction. Prior to establishing ASHLIN in 1996, Mrs. Botts was the Deputy Chief Administration Officer for Health and Human Services Programs in Prince Georges County, Maryland. Mrs. Botts has a deep commitment to providing high quality consulting services to clients and to serving the public sector. She has special expertise in developing innovative, culturally competent approaches to bring greater efficiency and productivity to human services programs.
Calvin B. Johnson, M.D., M.P.H., President
Dr. Johnson brings over 20 yrs of leadership and experience in health care delivery, policy, management and business governance to the ASHLIN team. A physician executive with broad and diverse experience, Dr. Johnson has been responsible for clinical operations and policy in both government and private sector organizations. He has been chief medical officer for a large academic health system and most recently served as executive vice president and chief medical officer for a large integrated correctional healthcare provider. Dr. Johnson also is the former secretary of health for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. In that role, he directed the health-services and regulatory functions of Pennsylvania’s Department of Health, an agency with more than 1,500 employees and a budget of nearly $1 billion, as well as advised the governor on public health policy.
Dr. Johnson earned his undergraduate degree from Morehouse College, his medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and a master of public health degree from the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health.
Samuel Botts, Jr., MBA, Chief Operating Officer/Senior Advisor
Samuel Botts is Chief Operating Officer of ASHLIN Management Group where he oversees business strategy, new business development and oversight of ASHLIN’s programs and services to clients. Prior to his role as COO, Mr. Botts was ASHLIN’s Chief Financial Officer where he oversaw accounting, budgeting and corporate finance, which have since been merged into his role as COO. Mr. Botts was instrumental in standing up ASHLIN's Analytics and Learning Management Systems (LMS) divisions. He also serves as Managing Partner of ASHLIN subsidiary, Persona Partners, a marketing and brand development consultancy which uses identity theory to assist clients in creating impenetrable relationships with their core customers.
Mr. Botts holds undergraduate degrees from Morehouse College and Georgia Tech in Engineering as well as a Master’s degree in Engineering from the University of Michigan and MBA from the Wharton School of Business.
Kevin Allen, Vice President - Regional Operations
Mr. Allen has over 20 years of experience in the development, growth, and leadership of customer service-driven businesses. Mr. Allen manages Federal, State, and local government funded contracts for ASHLIN, and provides technical, logistical, and administrative project leadership. His specialty areas include project management, technology (audio/video editing, voiceover narration, SharePoint Administrator, etc.) research, technical writing, advisory group and committee management, and large-scale national meeting planning. Mr. Allen studied Business Administration at Georgia State University.
Audrey Theis, Ph.D., Director of Workforce Development Programs
With a PhD in Educational Policy, Planning and Administration, Dr. Theis has over 30 years of experience in administration and management in a variety of education, workforce development, and economic development settings at the Federal, State, and local level. She also has a Masters of Science in Education from The Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Theis directs Department of Labor/Job Corps contracts for ASHLIN, assisting with strategic visioning, organizational change, student training approaches, and evaluation. She has expertise in designing and facilitating collaborative efforts among systems at the governmental, institutional and programmatic levels, on issues such as school reform and work-based learning experiences for youth in school-to-careers transition systems.
Dominic Berger, Senior Business Analyst
Mr. Berger currently serves as the IT Manager and Technical Lead for the Learning Management Systems (LMS) at ASHLIN. He has expertise in user experience design and the development of highly customizable and state-of-art LMS platforms that meet clients specific delivery needs. He was the content manager for the CDC-supports workplace wellness platform, Work@Health®, that delivered training and technical assistances to hundreds of trainers and employers nationwide. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland.
Nicholas Hobar, Ed.D., Digital Learning Platforms, Resident Expert
Dr. Nicholas Hobar is dedicated to quality learning. He assisted the ASHLIN Management Group to train hundreds of employers to install workplace wellness programs, to support Job Corps Center teachers become standards-based, to launch a CDC-supported online training curricula for rapid HIV testing, and to customize learning management systems for different training audiences. He earned his Master and Doctor of Education Degrees at The Pennsylvania State University. He authored and delivered both classroom and online professional development programs for the public school, higher education, government, and corporate sectors. Currently, he is the President and Chief Learning Architect of LearningFront™.
